The Lifestyle Summit - Let's Begin

A while back I attendied an online Lifestyle Summit with some very impressive people presenting our current state-of-the-art knowledge and understanding. 

And I mentioned that I would be summarizing the presentations for you so you could benefit from this summit.

Then, Life got in the way: covid, deaths, life-in-general. 

But I haven't forgotten.  So this is the first of a series of useful (I hope!) summaries of the summit.

The summit kicks off with a presentation by Dr. Dean Ornish...very famous for his work in Lifestype Medicine and is considered by many to be the "Father of Lifestyle Medicine."

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have more energy? To feel better mentally and physically? To know that you're doing everything in your power to prevent disease? That's what lifestyle medicine is all about. The Lifestyle Summit that I attended last year was filled with useful information on how and why making simple changes to our everyday lives can help us achieve optimal health!

It's easy to think that eating healthy, exercising regularly and getting enough sleep are all things we know but don't do. But what if they were actually easier than you thought? And what if these habits could actually be enjoyable - something you looked forward to each day instead of dreading them like most people do! In this post I 'll share some of the highlights from the summit, as well as a few simple changes you can make to your own life that just might make all the difference.

Dr. Dean Ornish started off the summit with an overview of lifestype medicine. He explained how lifestyle changes, not only help prevent disease, which we all know, but can also treat and often reverse it. And the great news is that these changes don't have to be drastic! In fact, making small changes each day can add up to big results over time.

So what are some of these lifestype changes and how do you know if they're right for you?

Lifestyle changes can reverse the progression of type two diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases, high cholesterol, obesity, cellular aging, and gene expression.

Because lifestype changes are essential to healing and reducing inflammation in our bodies, it is important that we make these changes now so we don't get sick later on down the road.
